Born in 1867 at village Cheema near Sunam, Sant Attar Singh Ji Maharaj dedicated his life to spiritual awakening and the spread of education in Punjab. In 1920 he laid the foundation of an educational mission at Gursagar Mastuana Sahib, Sangrur — a mission that has grown into the AKAL Group of Institutions.
Today the Group's five constituent colleges educate thousands of students in arts, science, agriculture, teacher education, pharmacy, physical education and management — while staying true to the founder's ideals of seva, simplicity and discipline.
